House Arrest

Well we are going on 10 days stuck in the house due to a number of health ailments. You see it all started about 3 weeksago the day we arrived home from our ski trip to CO. I came down with a form of the 'flu'.
High fever, body aches the whole 9 yards. I was out for about 3 days, then all seemed well. Then we went back to CR for a weekend where Izzy started not acting like herself, I figured she was fighting something off and/or teething.
2 days after we got home both Bradand I came down with 'the flu'.
I mean the not fun, puky kinda flu. I can't remember the last time I threw up when it wasn't from a hangover or pregnancy. So Brad and I were down for the count for several days. Meanwhile, parenting doesn't take a break for the flu. Izzy was teething (gotta love those 1 year molars) and was also on edge.

So these became our best friend

and this

We also pulled out the pack-n-play, set it up, threw some toys in, a couple handful of
said Cheerios, and plopped her down. It was about all we had the energy or the mind over stomach to do.
At least she was contained and was probably intoddler heaven with the amount of TV she got to watch.
A little Sesame Street, a little Price is Right, a little Family Feud.

So fast forward several more days when teething is at it's worst.
Brad and I finally concluded that Izzy also had a 'cold'.
Nothing we felt taking her to the doctor would help with, just have to let it run it's course. I slept with her one night on the nursery floor (because she kept waking up unable to suck on her paci and breath through her nose at the same time. So the pacis kept getting thrown overboard) and the sweet peanut just had to cough and sneeze right in my face. The next day she sneezed and got Brad right in the mouth and eyes. Needless to say Izzy was kind enough to pass on said cold to her mommy and daddy. So today, I am without a voice and the
lemon tea, Kleenex, and cough drops are out in full force.

Along with these being applied often!

A little plug for Young Living Oils
I really do think these are what has kept us out the doctors office and free of antibiotics.
Who cares that we smell like "old people potpourri" as Uncle Cory puts it. We aren't going anywhere anyway.

 The dreaded 'sucker'.
In the words of Tony Horton, "we hate it, but we love it"!

We did go have lunch at the mall the other day and Brad and Izzy got adjusted.
It's the first time us girls have been out of our PJs and into 'real' people cloths in 1.5 weeks. I can be a homebody at times, but I am starting to go stir crazy!

So far now we stare out the window longingly at the outside world all while trapped in an
invisible prism of our own germs.

If we are not able to get out this weekend to interact with otherhuman beings and feel the sunshine on my face, I am going to be forced to go Chinese style and wear a surgical mask and maybe even some gloves and just do it!
